New Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition in India

In March 2023, Skoda Auto launched the Onyx edition of the Kushaq, featuring cosmetic updates and additional features.

Initially based on the base Active trim, it was offered with a 115bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox.

Now, the automatic version of the Skoda Kushaq Onyx has been introduced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 13.49 lakh.

This version retains the 1.0L TSI engine (114bhp, 178Nm) and includes a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Design and Interior

The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition stands out with grey graphics on the doors and a chrome surround on the front grille.

It also features a faux diffuser on the front bumper, ‘Onyx’ badging on the B-pillar, and newly designed 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers.

Inside, the Kushaq Onyx Edition showcases scuff plates and ‘Onyx’ badging on the headrests, chrome-surrounded AC vents, a 2-spoke steering wheel,

and a dashboard with a textured pattern. Unlike the regular model, it has a distinctive black and grey interior theme.

Features and Pricing

The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition includes all the features available in the entry-level Ambition trim. Key features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system,

automatic climate control with air purifier, height-adjustable driver seat, rear wiper with washer, fog lights, and LED headlights.

For safety, it comes equipped with dual front airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and Isofix anchorage.

Price and Competition

In the mid-size SUV segment, the Skoda Kushaq competes with models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor.

The price of the Kushaq starts at Rs 11.99 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end trim.
