Maruti Swift CNG AMT is now available in India with an automatic transmission option.
The Swift VXI CNG AMT has been introduced at an ex-showroom price of ₹7.92 lakh, while Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency of up to 35.34 km/kg in CNG mode.
The new option adds an AMT transmission to the Swift’s CNG powertrain, giving buyers another choice alongside the existing petrol and CNG versions.
Maruti Swift CNG AMT Gets 35.34 km/kg Mileage
The Maruti Swift CNG AMT uses a 1.2-litre, 1197cc Z12-series three-cylinder engine. In petrol mode, it produces 82.93 PS of maximum power and 112.4 Nm of peak torque.
In CNG mode, the engine develops 69.75 PS of maximum power and 101.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed AMT transmission.
The company claims that the Swift CNG AMT can deliver up to 35.34 km/kg of fuel efficiency. Actual mileage may vary depending on driving conditions and usage.
The car comes with a 37-litre petrol fuel tank and a 55-litre CNG tank. The CNG powertrain and transmission combination is also offered with the Maruti Dzire.
New Automatic Option for Swift CNG
The Swift uses Maruti Suzuki’s Z12-series engine, which is also used in models such as the Dzire and Baleno. The engine supports both the S-CNG system and Automated Manual Transmission.
The AMT system automatically operates the clutch and changes gears, removing the need for the driver to operate a clutch pedal manually. This makes the CNG Swift available to buyers looking for an automatic driving option.
Swift CNG AMT Features Remain Unchanged
The company has not made major feature changes with the introduction of the new transmission option. The Swift continues to offer features including a wireless charger, dual charging ports, rear AC vents, a rear-view camera and automatic climate control.
It also gets a 9-inch free-standing infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
For safety, the Swift comes with six airbags as standard, along with three-point seatbelts for all seats, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, hill-hold control and ESP. Cruise control is also available.
Swift CNG AMT Price and Key Details
The Swift VXI CNG AMT is priced at ₹7.92 lakh ex-showroom. The biggest change is the addition of the 5-speed AMT transmission to the CNG version, while the existing features remain largely unchanged.
With the new option, the Swift CNG AMT offers buyers a combination of CNG fuel efficiency and an automatic transmission in the hatchback segment.
