The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024 to assist financially weaker students in continuing their education.

Eligibility Criteria and Types of Scholarships
This scholarship is aimed at students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
1) The applicant must be an Indian citizen who has passed the 10th, 12th, or diploma-equivalent exam with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24.
2) The student must have enrolled in the first year of any course for the academic year 2024-25.
There are two types of scholarships available under this scheme:
General Scholarship: For students pursuing medical, engineering, vocational training, and ITI courses from government colleges.
Special Scholarship for Girls: Specifically for girls studying intermediate or diploma courses after the 10th grade, like ITI or Polytechnic.
Scholarship Amount and Benefits
General Scholarship
1) Students in medical courses will receive Rs 40,000 per year.
2) Students in engineering (B.Tech) will receive Rs 30,000 per year.
3) Students in vocational courses or ITI from government colleges will receive Rs 20,000 or Rs 10,000 annually, depending on the course.
Special Scholarship for Girls
1) Girls pursuing diploma courses after the 10th grade, such as ITI or Polytechnic, will receive Rs 15,000.
This amount will be paid in two installments of Rs 7,500 each for two years.
