Citroen India has introduced the updated version of its entry-level car, the C3, in the Indian market.
The new 2024 Citroen C3 is priced at Rs 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
The prices for other variants have increased by up to Rs 30,000. The range has been narrowed due to the discontinuation of the C3 Feel Turbo and C3 Feel DC models.
Specifically, the price for the Feel grade has risen by Rs 20,000, while the Shine trim is now Rs 30,000 more expensive.
All variants, except for the top-end Shine, are powered by a 1.2L turbo three-cylinder petrol engine.
New Features and Competitors
Citroen has added several new features to the C3, including making 6 airbags standard across all models for enhanced safety.
The Citroen C3 competes directly with cars like the Maruti Swift, Maruti WagonR, Hyundai i10 Nios, and Tata Tiago in the Indian market.
Recently, Citroen also launched the all-new Basalt SUV coupe, with a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh, and updated the C3 Aircross SUV with new features.
Powertrain and Additional Features
The 2024 Citroen C3 comes with two 1.2-litre petrol engines, both paired with a 6-speed automatic torque converter similar to the C3 Aircross and Basalt Coupe SUV.
The naturally aspirated engine produces 80 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 1.2-litre turbo engine is available in two power outputs: the 6-speed manual version delivers 108 bhp
and 190 Nm, while the new automatic version also delivers 108 bhp but with a higher torque output of 205 Nm.
In terms of features, the 2024 Citroen C3 includes 6 airbags as standard, LED projector headlights, automatic climate control,
a fully digital instrument console, power window switches repositioned from the center console to the door area, and electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators.
Notably, the C3’s price remains significantly lower than other hatchbacks available in the market.
