Apple took the wraps off its latest iPad Air (2024) during its ‘Let Loose’ event, marking the debut of the sixth-generation iPad Air.

Offering users a choice between 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch display variants, this iteration stands out as the first iPad Air to feature two display sizes.

While initial speculation hinted at a mini-LED screen for the larger variant, both models sport Liquid Retina (LCD) displays.

Powered by Apple’s octa-core M2 chip, the iPad Air (2024) promises enhanced performance and efficiency.

Pricing and Availability

Global pre-booking for the new iPad Air (2024) is now open.

The base model with a 10.9-inch display starts at $599 (approximately Rs 50,000), while the larger 12.9-inch variant is priced at $799 (approximately Rs 69,700).

Specifications at a Glance

The iPad Air (2024) debuts with Apple’s M2 chip, featuring the Neural Engine for on-device AI functions.

Boasting a 50% increase in speed compared to its predecessor, the device runs on iPadOS 17 out of the box.

Both display variants offer impressive visuals, with the 10.9-inch Liquid Retina (LCD) screen boasting a resolution of 2360×1640 pixels, akin to the fifth-generation iPad Air models.

Additionally, the iPad Air is now available in a 12.9-inch option, featuring a slightly higher resolution.

On the camera front, users can capture stunning selfies and engage in video calls with the 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle front-facing camera,

complemented by Apple’s Center Stage technology for automatic camera adjustments during FaceTime calls.

The rear camera setup includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with image stabilization and Smart HDR, capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps and slow-motion videos at 1080p/240fps.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, with the cellular model supporting 5G networks.

The device features a USB Type-C port for charging (up to 20W) and data transfer, alongside a Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button for seamless biometric authentication.
