Aadhar Card Free Update Deadline is Extended to New Date (see details)

New Delhi:

In a recent decision by the government, the last date for the free updating of Aadhar cards has been extended once again, offering a lifeline to individuals who have not updated their Aadhar details in the last 10 years.

The deadline for updating Aadhar cards for free has now been extended by an additional 3 months,

with the new deadline set for March 14, 2024.

During this period, individuals can update their address proof,

as well as make changes to their name, date of birth, mobile number, photo, and biometric details at no cost.

UIDAI’s Appeal

Given the widespread use of Aadhar cards as a primary identification document, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the body responsible for issuing Aadhar cards,

has urged individuals to take advantage of this extension and update their Aadhar details.

This call to action is particularly directed at those who have not updated their Aadhar information for more than a decade.

UIDAI emphasizes the need for individuals to verify their proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) during the update process.

Online and Offline Update Process

To update the address in the Aadhar card, individuals can apply online through the myAadhaar portal.
