BMW to Unveil iX1 Electric SUV in India on September 28, 2023

German luxury car manufacturer BMW is poised to launch its highly-anticipated electric SUV, the iX1, in the Indian automobile market on September 28, 2023.

This move marks BMW’s strategic expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in India, joining the ranks of the i4 sedan, iX SUV, and i7 luxury sedan.

Nearly eight months following the introduction of the X1 SUV, BMW is introducing the iX1 to cater to India’s growing EV market.

Notable Features

The BMW iX1 represents an electric adaptation of the third-generation X1. The car retains its distinctive design and aesthetic appeal, featuring a front facia adorned with BMW’s signature twin kidney grille and sleek LED headlamps.

The addition of alluring alloy wheels enhances the vehicle’s overall appearance, while the rear of the car has undergone a thoughtful redesign.

Interior Excellence

Inside the BMW iX1, the cabin boasts a 10.7-inch touchscreen interface and BMW’s elegant round digital information display system.

Standout features include a panoramic sunroof and front massage seats. Under the hood, the iX1 xDrive30 packs a robust 66.5 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of fast DC charging up to 130 kW.

Powerful Performance

Equipped with two motors, the iX1 can generate a combined output of 313 horsepower and 494 Nm of torque.

This electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in a swift 5.6 seconds and boasts a top speed of 440 km/h.

On a single charge, the iX1 can cover up to 180 kilometers. The price range for this premium offering in India starts at Rs 60-65 lakh.
