SBI pensioners life certificate submission can now be completed through four convenient methods, helping retirees avoid unnecessary visits to a bank branch.

Pensioners can submit their Jeevan Pramaan Patra physically at an SBI branch, generate a digital certificate through the official Jeevan Pramaan portal, use the UMANG app or visit a Common Service Centre (CSC).

The submission deadline depends on the pensioner’s age.

In 2026, pensioners aged 80 years and above can submit their annual life certificate in October and November, while those below 80 must submit it between November 1 and November 30.

SBI Pensioners Life Certificate: Who Must Submit It?

A life certificate confirms that a pensioner is alive and eligible to continue receiving pension payments.

Pensioners who receive their monthly pension through the State Bank of India must complete the annual verification process within the applicable period.

For 2026, super senior pensioners aged 80 years and above can submit their life certificates from October 1.

Other eligible pensioners can complete the process during November, from November 1 to November 30.

Missing the applicable deadline may affect the continuation of pension payments, so pensioners should complete the process within the prescribed period.

Those unsure about their eligibility or submission status should contact their pension-disbursing bank or authority.

Four Ways to Submit the SBI Life Certificate

 Visit an SBI Branch

Pensioners can visit an SBI branch to submit a physical life certificate using the prescribed form. The form is available through the bank’s official website.

Alternatively, they can request a digital life certificate at an SBI branch. For this process, pensioners need to provide their Aadhaar number, mobile number, Pension Payment Order (PPO) number and bank account number.

The bank will verify the pensioner’s identity using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, such as fingerprint verification.

After successful authentication, a digital certificate is generated with a unique acknowledgement number called the Pramaan ID.

 Use the Jeevan Pramaan Portal

Pensioners can also use the official Jeevan Pramaan portal to generate a Digital Life Certificate. The service uses Aadhaar-based authentication to verify the pensioner’s identity.

After successful verification, the digital certificate is stored in the relevant online repository, allowing the pension-disbursing agency to access it electronically.

This method can reduce the need to submit a physical document at the bank, provided the pensioner’s details and authentication process meet the applicable requirements.

Pensioners should follow the official portal’s instructions and ensure that their pension details are entered correctly.

Submit the Certificate Through the UMANG App

The UMANG app offers another option for pensioners who prefer to complete the process using a smartphone.

Users can search for Jeevan Pramaan within the app and select the option to generate a life certificate.

They may need to install the Aadhaar Face RD service and enter details such as their PPO number and other required pension information.

The pensioner must then complete the prescribed face-authentication process.

Once authentication succeeds, the digital life certificate request is sent to the relevant pension-disbursing agency.

Pensioners should check the confirmation and retain their Pramaan ID or other acknowledgement details for future reference.

Visit a Common Service Centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra

Pensioners who are not comfortable using mobile apps or online services can visit a nearby Common Service Centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra for assistance with digital life certificate generation.

They may be asked to provide their Aadhaar number, mobile number, PPO number, bank account number and details of the pension-sanctioning authority.

Fingerprint-based biometric authentication is then used to verify their identity.

After successful verification, the digital life certificate is generated and a Pramaan ID is provided as acknowledgement.

Pensioners should keep this reference number safe so they can check or confirm their submission when needed.

What Is Jeevan Pramaan and Why Is It Important?

Jeevan Pramaan is the Government of India’s Digital Life Certificate service for pensioners.

It uses digital authentication to make annual life certificate submission more convenient and reduces dependence on physical paperwork.

The facility is available to eligible pensioners receiving pensions from central government, state government and other government organisations, subject to the applicable requirements of their pension-disbursing authorities.

For SBI pensioners, choosing the right submission method depends on their comfort with technology, access to biometric authentication and ability to visit a service centre.

Those who cannot travel easily should check whether doorstep life certificate collection or special assistance is available through SBI.

Before the deadline, pensioners should confirm that their certificate has been successfully submitted and accepted.

Completing the process on time helps avoid problems with pension continuation and provides greater peace of mind
