iOS 27 brings AI-powered Siri to iPhones, marking a major step in Apple’s push to make its voice assistant more capable and context-aware.
Apple has also added several design, customization and AI features across the operating system.
The new Siri AI is designed to understand context better and work more closely with apps and information on the iPhone. The feature is launching in beta in English, with additional languages planned for October 2026.
iOS 27 Brings AI-Powered Siri
The biggest change in iOS 27 is the redesigned Siri experience. The updated assistant can provide more contextual responses and assist with tasks involving messages, emails, photos and other information available on the device.
Apple’s AI features also extend to Visual Intelligence, allowing users to get information about what they see through the iPhone camera.
The update brings deeper integration between Siri and different parts of the iPhone experience.
New Features Coming With iOS 27
iOS 27 also introduces more customization options for the iPhone interface.
Users can adjust the appearance of the Liquid Glass design, while redesigned icons and larger widgets provide additional ways to personalize the Home Screen.
Apple has also added AI-powered improvements to Photos and Shortcuts. The update includes new parental controls, improvements to Safari and changes to other built-in apps.
Which iPhones Can Get iOS 27
iOS 27 is available for iPhone 11 and newer models.
However, some of the more advanced AI capabilities require newer iPhone hardware, with several features limited to models such as the iPhone 15 Pro and later.
This means that while eligible older iPhones can receive the operating system update, users may not get access to every new AI feature.
What Makes the New Siri Different
The updated Siri is intended to move beyond simple voice commands by using greater context from the device. It can assist with information across apps and provide more natural interactions.
The new Siri AI is initially available in beta for English-language users, while French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish support is expected to follow in October.
For iPhone users, the update combines the Siri overhaul with interface changes, AI tools and additional customization options, making iOS 27 one of Apple’s major software updates of 2026.
