Airtel has removed its cheapest prepaid recharge plan from the market. The company’s ₹299 prepaid plan is no longer available on the official Airtel website or the Airtel Thanks app.
This means customers looking for the lowest-priced Airtel recharge will now have to choose the ₹349 plan.
The move is expected to increase recharge costs for users who were relying on the ₹299 plan for their monthly needs.
₹299 Plan No Longer Available
Reports say Airtel had increased the price of its ₹249 plan to ₹299 in August last year as part of a tariff hike. Now, nearly a year later, the company has completely discontinued the plan.
The ₹299 recharge offered a validity of 28 days along with:
Unlimited local and STD calling
1GB high-speed 4G/5G data per day
100 SMS per day
Free HelloTunes
Perplexity Pro AI subscription
Users who were using this plan will now need to spend more on their next recharge.
₹349 Plan Becomes the New Entry Option
After the removal of the ₹299 plan, Airtel’s ₹349 recharge is now the company’s most affordable prepaid plan.
This plan comes with:
28 days validity
2GB high-speed data per day
Unlimited calling
100 SMS per day
6 months of Apple Music
Airtel Hello Tunes
12 months of Adobe Express Premium
Although it costs more, users get double the daily data along with extra digital benefits.
Need More Data? ₹399 Plan Is Also Available
Customers who use more internet every day can also choose Airtel’s ₹399 prepaid plan.
It offers:
2.5GB high-speed data per day
28 days validity
Unlimited calling
100 SMS per day
28-day JioHotstar Mobile subscription instead of Apple Music
This plan is aimed at users who stream videos and consume more mobile data.
What Does This Mean for Customers?
The discontinuation of the ₹299 plan means Airtel users will now have to spend at least ₹349 for a 28-day recharge.
While the newer plans include more data and additional subscriptions, customers who only needed basic calling and limited data may end up paying more every month.
Jio Offers a Similar Recharge Option
Reliance Jio also offers a ₹349 prepaid plan for its users. The plan includes:
2GB high-speed data per day
Unlimited calling
100 SMS per day
28 days validity
Users comparing recharge options may want to check the benefits offered by both operators before choosing a plan.
