WhatsApp has introduced several new features to make group chats more useful and organized. The latest update brings smarter Polls, a new @all Mention option,

and the ability to create a new group from an existing one. These features are designed to make conversations in large groups easier to manage.

Smarter Polls with More Control

WhatsApp Polls are now getting a major upgrade. Users can set a deadline for a poll, and once the time is over, the poll will automatically close. No new votes will be accepted after the deadline.

This feature is especially helpful for making quick decisions about meetings, trips, events, or any group activity with a fixed timeline.

WhatsApp is also allowing users to edit a poll for a short time after posting it. This makes it easy to fix typing mistakes or improve the question without creating a new poll.

Better Privacy and New @all Mention

WhatsApp has also improved privacy for Polls. Users can now choose to hide the identity of voters, making anonymous voting possible. This allows group members to share their opinions without pressure.

Another useful addition is the @all Mention feature. Instead of tagging people one by one, users can simply type @all to notify everyone in the group at once.

To prevent misuse, WhatsApp says that in groups with more than 32 members, only group admins will be able to use the @all mention feature.

Create a New Group from an Existing One

WhatsApp has also introduced a new way to manage discussions. Users can now create a new group chat from an existing group for specific topics.

For example, if only a few members need to plan an event, they can create a separate group instead of filling the main group with unrelated messages. This helps keep large groups clean and organized while allowing focused discussions.

When Will You Get These Features?

WhatsApp is rolling out these new features to Android and iPhone users in phases.

If you don’t see them yet, update your WhatsApp app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Once the update reaches your account, the new features will become available.
