India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has introduced a new budget-friendly fare called IndiGo Lite. This new economy-class option is designed for passengers who travel only with cabin baggage and do not need extra services.
The idea behind this fare is simple: pay only for the services you use. This gives passengers more flexibility and can help them save money on their trips.
Booking Starts From July 1
Bookings for the new IndiGo Lite fare will open on July 1, 2026. However, tickets can only be booked through IndiGo’s own platforms, including:
IndiGo’s official website
IndiGo mobile app
IndiGo contact center
At the moment, this fare will not be available on third-party travel booking websites.
Travel Under This Fare Begins on July 15
Passengers will be able to travel using the IndiGo Lite fare from July 15, 2026. This means there is a two-week gap between the booking launch and the start of travel.
The new fare will be available on both domestic and international non-stop flights.
It can be used for:
One-way trips
Round-trip bookings
Multi-city journeys
The fare is available for both adults and children.
Why Is IndiGo Introducing This Fare?
IndiGo has been expanding its fare options to suit different types of travellers. The airline already offers plans such as Saver, Flexi, and Upfront fares.
With IndiGo Lite, the company is targeting passengers who travel short distances with limited luggage and do not want to pay extra for checked baggage.
For frequent flyers and light packers, this new fare could become one of the cheapest and most convenient ways to fly with IndiGo.
