If you’re planning to submit a PF claim or check your EPF passbook, you may have to wait a little longer.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the suspension of several online services due to an ongoing system upgrade.

Earlier, services were expected to resume on June 29, 2026, but EPFO has now announced that they will be restored from July 1, 2026.

Why Are EPFO Services Unavailable?

According to EPFO, it is carrying out a planned database consolidation and software upgrade to improve the claims processing system.

The migration process began on June 26, 2026, and during this period, both the Member Portal, Employer Portal, and UMANG App services remain temporarily unavailable.

EPFO says the upgrade is aimed at making its services faster, more secure, and more reliable once the work is completed.

Which EPFO Services Are Affected?

Several important online services are currently unavailable.

These include:

Online PF claim submission and processing

EPF passbook download

Employer ECR filing

UAN linking for new employees

Member and Employer Portal login

EPFO services through the UMANG App

Members who need urgent assistance can contact the EPFO helpline at 14470.

What About Pending PF Claims?

EPFO has clarified that claims submitted before the system migration will not be cancelled or rejected.

However, their processing may take longer than usual.

Any pending claims will be processed after the upgraded system becomes operational from July 1, 2026.

EPF Interest Rate for FY 2024-25 Confirmed

In a separate update, the Central Government has approved an 8.25% interest rate on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for the financial year 2024-25.

The interest rate remains unchanged from the previous financial year.

The decision was first approved by EPFO’s Central Board of Trustees and has now received clearance from the Ministry of Finance.

The EPFO is expected to credit the interest amount to members’ accounts soon.

How to Check Your EPF Balance

Once EPFO services are fully restored, members can check their PF balance using any of these methods:

EPFO Member Portal

UMANG App

SMS service

Missed call facility

Until the migration work is completed, some of these services may remain temporarily unavailable.
