Hero MotoCorp has launched a new top-end variant of the the Passion Plus for buyers looking for an affordable commuter bike with some extra features.
The new Hero Passion Plus Disc variant is priced at ₹84,128 (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive and feature-packed Passion Plus launched so far.
The biggest highlights of this new model are the addition of a front disc brake and a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument cluster. However, the engine and overall mechanical setup remain unchanged.
Front Disc Brake Added for Better Safety
The biggest upgrade in the new Passion Plus Disc variant is the addition of a front disc brake. This is the first time the Passion Plus lineup has received this feature. Earlier, the bike was available only with drum brakes.
The front disc brake is expected to offer better stopping power, especially for riders who frequently travel in city traffic or occasionally ride on highways.
Apart from this update, the bike continues to use the same suspension setup with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers.
New Digital Console With Bluetooth Connectivity
Hero has also introduced a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity in the new variant. Riders can now receive call and SMS alerts directly on the display.
The digital console also shows useful information such as real-time fuel efficiency, fuel level, and service reminders. Apart from these additions, the bike retains the familiar design and features of the existing Passion Plus.
Engine and Mileage Remain the Same
The new Hero Passion Plus Disc variant is powered by the same 97.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine produces 8 hp of power and 8.05 Nm of torque and is paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
Hero claims the bike delivers a mileage of around 71 km per litre, making it one of the most fuel-efficient options in the entry-level commuter motorcycle segment.
Price of the New Hero Passion Plus Disc Variant
The new Hero Passion Plus Disc variant has been launched at an ex-showroom price of ₹84,128. For comparison, the standard drum brake version is priced at ₹80,328, while the Passion Plus 125 Million Edition costs ₹80,574.
This means buyers will have to spend around ₹3,800 extra to get the front disc brake and Bluetooth-enabled digital console offered in the new top-spec Passion Plus.
