Travelers flying from Darbhanga Airport may face major inconvenience in the coming months. Rising tensions between the United States

and Iran and the resulting challenges in the global aviation sector have started affecting flight operations in India. As a result, several airlines have reduced or suspended services from Darbhanga Airport.

The changes will mainly impact passengers traveling between July and September, a period when many people travel for festivals, weddings, business work, education, and medical treatment.

Major Changes in Darbhanga Flight Services

Several important routes from Darbhanga have been affected. Airlines have either reduced the number of flights or temporarily suspended services on some routes.

The biggest impact has been seen on the popular Mumbai and Delhi routes, which are heavily used by passengers from North Bihar.

Mumbai and Delhi Routes Hit Hard

Akasa Air has stopped accepting bookings for its direct Mumbai flight from Darbhanga from July 1 onwards.

Passengers searching for tickets between July and September are currently unable to book seats. The airline is expected to restart normal operations in October.

At the same time, IndiGo has also reduced its Mumbai services. Travelers can now fly on this route only three days a week, limiting available options.

The Delhi route has also been affected. Akasa Air has reduced the number of flights to the national capital, and the service will now operate only four days a week. Earlier, passengers had more flight choices throughout the week.

Kolkata Route Remains Closed, SpiceJet Services Uncertain

Passengers traveling to Kolkata continue to face difficulties. IndiGo had suspended its Darbhanga-Kolkata service earlier, and the route has not yet been restored.

Meanwhile, SpiceJet passengers continue to face frequent disruptions. Flight cancellations, sudden schedule changes,

and technical issues have made travel uncertain for many passengers. With other airlines also reducing services, concerns are growing that the situation could worsen further.

Passengers and Businesses Express Concern

Darbhanga Airport has become an important travel hub for North Bihar. Every day, business owners, students, working professionals, and patients use the airport to travel to major cities across India.

Passengers say the reduction in direct flights is disrupting both personal and professional plans. Many fear that if services are not restored soon, they will have no choice but to travel to Patna or other airports for flights.

This would increase both travel time and expenses, adding to their difficulties.

For now, travelers are being advised to check flight schedules carefully before making travel plans, as airline operations may continue to change in the coming months.
