If you love cruiser bikes from Bajaj Auto, there’s some big news for you. One model is saying goodbye, while another popular bike is making a strong comeback.

The company has removed the Bajaj Avenger 160 Street from its official website, which means it is no longer available for sale.

But at the same time, Bajaj is bringing back the Bajaj Avenger 220 Street — a bike that was discontinued a few years ago. Now, it’s ready to return to Indian roads.

Why Was Avenger 160 Street Discontinued?

The Avenger 160 Street was a good option for budget buyers who wanted a cruiser-style bike for daily use. It came with a 160cc engine that was suitable for city riding.

However, Bajaj now wants to offer a more powerful and premium experience in this segment. That’s why the company has decided to replace the 160 model with the stronger 220 version, giving riders better performance and road presence.

What to Expect from the New Avenger 220 Street?

The returning Avenger 220 Street will come with a 220cc oil-cooled engine, similar to the one used in the Avenger Cruise model. This engine delivers around 19bhp power and 17.5Nm torque, making it more suitable for both city and highway rides.

In terms of design, the bike will look sportier than the Cruise version. Instead of heavy chrome and a big windshield, it will feature a matte black finish and a cleaner look. It will also get shorter handlebars, making it easier to handle in traffic.

Other highlights include alloy wheels, which add a modern touch compared to traditional spoke wheels.

Features, Colors and Comfort

The bike is expected to be launched in two color options: Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red.

It comes with a 13-litre fuel tank and a low seat height of 737mm, making it comfortable even for shorter riders. For safety, you get a front disc brake along with single-channel ABS.

The bike also includes a semi-digital instrument cluster and a pillion backrest, adding both style and comfort for long rides.

Expected Price and Launch Timeline

Right now, the bike is listed as “Coming Soon” on Bajaj’s website, and the official price has not been announced yet.

However, it is expected to be priced around ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). If you’ve been waiting for a powerful and stylish cruiser, this could be the right time to start planning your purchase.
