A big update has come for travelers in NCR and nearby regions.

Yamuna International Airport Limited has officially announced that flights from Noida International Airport will begin from June 15, 2026.

This is the first time the airport operator has confirmed a fixed launch date.

Preparations are in full swing, and meetings with airlines are already underway.

For now, IndiGo will start passenger services first.

Talks are also ongoing with Akasa Air and Air India Express, and their schedules may be announced soon.

Security Approval and Leadership Change

Recently, the airport received a major clearance.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has approved the airport’s security program.

This means the airport is ready in terms of safety, infrastructure, and operations.

This approval came after a leadership change.

Foreign CEO Christoph Schnellmann was replaced, and Neetu Samra took charge as the new CEO.

Flights Only During Daytime (For Now)

In the beginning, flights will operate only during the day.

This is because the airport does not yet have CAT-III landing equipment, which is needed for low-visibility operations like fog.

Also, international flights will take more time to start.

Work on the international terminal is still incomplete, and flights will begin only after it is ready.

Project Faced Multiple Delays

The airport project has seen several delays over time.

The original deadline was September 2024, but construction work could not be completed on time.

The deadline was extended multiple times, but the project still faced delays.

Now, after a delay of more than one year, the final launch date has been set for June 15, 2026.

Modern Facilities for Passengers

The airport is equipped with advanced and modern facilities.

It has 10 aerobridges, allowing passengers to board multiple flights at the same time.

This is the highest number of aerobridges in Uttar Pradesh.

Passengers will also enjoy features like:

Contactless travel using DigiYatra (facial recognition and QR codes)

Fast baggage checking through Automated Tray Retrieval System (ATRS)

Modern terminal with high-quality services

Capacity and Future Expansion Plans

In its first phase, the airport is built across 1,334 hectares.

It includes one runway, a terminal, an ATC tower, and a cargo hub.

The airport can handle around 1.2 crore (12 million) passengers every year.

In the future, expansion plans aim to increase this capacity to over 70 million passengers annually.

Easy Travel with Bus and Taxi Services

To make travel easier, multiple transport options will be available.

State transport services from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Uttarakhand will run buses to the airport.

Cab services like Ola, Uber, and Rapido will also be available for passengers.

Ticket Booking to Start Soon

Passengers won’t have to wait long to book tickets.

Officials say that flight schedules may be released around mid-May.

After that, ticket booking will begin.

What This Means for You

The opening of Noida International Airport is a big step for better connectivity.

It will reduce travel pressure on Delhi airport and make flying easier for people in NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.

With modern facilities and better connectivity, this airport is expected to change how people travel in the region.
