To handle the growing number of passengers and the heavy summer travel rush, flights are being increased at Birsa Munda Airport.
Starting May, four additional flights will operate from Ranchi, offering much-needed relief to travelers heading to major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
Special Summer Flights Between May 1 and May 29
On the Mumbai route, IndiGo is launching a special summer flight. This service will run from May 1 to May 29 and will operate three days a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
As per the schedule, the flight will depart from Mumbai in the morning, reach Ranchi in the afternoon, and then return to Mumbai after a short halt. This additional service is expected to make travel smoother during peak days.
Rising Summer Demand Prompts More Services
Passenger numbers usually increase sharply during summer holidays, especially on routes like Ranchi–Mumbai. With this new flight, getting tickets may become easier, and fares could remain more stable.
Meanwhile, Air India is also expanding its services. The airline is adding new flights from Ranchi to Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad, offering travelers more flexibility with different timing options.

Passengers will now have more choices based on their schedule. A new evening flight to Mumbai has been introduced, while Delhi will get an additional morning service. For Hyderabad, a direct afternoon flight is being launched.
