Indian Railways, often called the lifeline of the country, has introduced a small but useful offer to help passengers save money. Now, travelers can get up to a 3% discount on unreserved (general) train tickets.
This offer is especially helpful for daily commuters such as office workers, students, and small business owners who depend on trains regularly.
The discount is available for a limited time and will remain valid until July 14, 2026. However, there is one important condition — you must book your ticket through a digital platform instead of buying it from the ticket counter.
Discount Available Only on Digital Booking
To get this 3% discount, passengers need to use the newly launched RailOne app. Tickets booked through this app are eligible for the offer.
The discount applies only when you make a digital payment. This includes options like UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking. If you pay with cash at the counter, you will not get any discount.
With this step, Indian Railways is also encouraging more people to switch to digital payments, making the booking process faster and more convenient.
Big Relief for Daily Commuters
This offer is expected to benefit passengers in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities the most, where many people rely on trains every day.
Even though the discount is small, regular travelers can save a noticeable amount over time. Along with saving money, booking tickets through the app also helps avoid long queues at railway stations, saving both time and effort.
How to Get the 3% Discount
Follow these simple steps to avail the offer:
Download the RailOne app and register or log in
Select the “Unreserved Ticket” option
Enter your journey details like station, date, and passenger information

The 3% discount will be applied automatically during payment
