Reassuring news has come from Maharashtra, where the government is making the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) faster and easier to access.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is set to launch a new online system that will help patients receive financial aid for treatment much quicker than before.
Faster Approvals, Less Waiting
Under the new system, CMRF applications will be approved within just 8 hours. Earlier, patients had to wait for several days, but now the entire process will be completed in a single day.
This change is expected to be a big relief, especially for critical patients who need urgent treatment and cannot afford delays.
Hospitals to Handle the Process
One of the biggest improvements is that patients and their families will no longer need to run around for paperwork.
Now, hospitals will take full responsibility. They will collect the required documents, prepare the application, and send it directly to the CMRF office. This hospital-based system will make the process smoother and stress-free for patients.
Quicker Treatment, Better Support
The government believes that this digital system will reduce delays in treatment and provide immediate financial help. It will be especially beneficial for poor and needy patients who depend on timely assistance.
Between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, around ₹333 crore was given to 40,776 patients under this scheme. With the new system, this support is expected to reach people even faster.
What Officials Say
CMRF chief Rameshwar Naik said the goal is to ensure patients get treatment on time. According to him, the new online system will speed up approvals and provide major relief to people.
The system will soon be officially launched by Devendra Fadnavis and then rolled out across the state. Overall, this initiative could bring new hope to millions of patients in Maharashtra.
