This means you do not lose your selected train or entered details, making the process much faster and easier.
How This Feature Works
When you are booking a ticket on the IRCTC website or mobile app and the payment fails, the system will show a “Retry” or “Resume” option on the screen.
By clicking this option, you are taken back directly to the same step where the payment stopped. You do not need to search for trains or re-enter passenger details again.
You can then complete the payment instantly using available methods such as UPI, net banking, or cards through IRCTC iPay.
Key Benefits for Passengers
The biggest advantage of this feature is time savings. It removes the need to repeat the entire booking process, which is especially helpful during peak booking times.
It also reduces the chances of losing a seat, particularly in high-demand Tatkal bookings where every second matters.
