These days, rumors spread very fast on social media, and something similar has happened with LPG cylinders.

False news about gas shortage and price hikes created panic among people, leading many to book extra cylinders unnecessarily.

Now, the government has stepped in and made it clear that strict action will be taken against those spreading rumors.

Government Issues Strict Warning

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has sent a strong message to all states and union territories.

It has asked officials to regularly share correct information with the public and not stay silent.

The ministry questioned why people are panicking when the country has enough LPG stock available.

Officials have now been told to come forward daily and inform people about the real situation.

How Rumors Created Panic

Because of false messages on platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook, many people started believing that gas cylinders would soon run out.

This led to:

People booking extra cylinders

Long queues at gas agencies

Increased panic buying

In some places, cases of hoarding and black marketing have also been reported.

Daily Updates to Stop Fake News

To control the situation, the government has decided to ensure regular press briefings.

So far, only a few states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan have been sharing regular updates.

Now, all states have been asked to:

Provide daily updates on LPG stock

Inform about supply status

Reassure the public to avoid panic

This will help people trust official information instead of rumors.

Action Against Black Marketing

The government is also focusing on stopping black marketing.

When panic increases, some sellers try to hide cylinders and sell them at higher prices later.

The government has ordered strict action against such practices.

Authorities believe that clear and regular communication will help stop both rumors and illegal activities.

No Need to Panic

The government has clearly stated that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders in the country.
