In a major Holi announcement, the Madhya Pradesh government has taken two big decisions for state employees — one related to facilities and the other to salary benefits.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the changes on Monday, calling them a festive gift for employees and pensioners.
Here’s what has changed.
Treasury Officers Get Vehicle Hiring Facility
The state government has allowed all treasury officers to hire vehicles during working hours.
This facility will be available from April 1, 2026.
The Finance Department has already issued official orders after a proposal from treasury officers was approved.
Treasury officers handle crucial responsibilities such as:
Authorising bill payments
Disbursing pensions
Managing government financial records
Ensuring compliance with accounting rules
Reporting to the Accountant General
With the new vehicle hiring facility, officers are expected to carry out their duties more efficiently.
3% DA Hike Announced as Holi Gift
Along with this administrative decision, the Chief Minister also announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA).
With this hike, DA for state government employees and pensioners will increase from 55% to 58%.
Employees will receive the revised 58% DA in their April 2026 salary, which will be paid in May 2026.
The government also confirmed that this move brings state employees in line with the Centre.
What About Arrears and Pensioners?
Employees will receive arrears for the period from July 2025 to March 2026.
These arrears will be paid in six equal instalments starting May 2026.
Pensioners will also benefit.
They will receive 58% Dearness Relief, effective from January 2026 and payable from February 2026.
A Festive Message from the CM
While making the announcement, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Holi is a festival that promotes harmony and unity.
He urged citizens to celebrate with joy and work together for the progress of the state.
With both financial relief and improved facilities, this Holi announcement brings positive news for thousands of government employees and pensioners in Madhya Pradesh.
