Rain Alert in 9 States from February 21

As summer approaches, the country is experiencing major weather changes. Rain has already started in some areas.

The Meteorological Department has warned of moderate to heavy rain in nine states for the next four days, starting tomorrow, February 21. Farmers have been advised to be cautious.

During this period, strong winds with speeds of 40–45 mph may create more difficulties, especially in North India. People traveling to hilly regions should check weather updates before their journey.

In Gujarat and Maharashtra, maximum temperatures may rise by 2–3°C over the next three days.

Rain Alert in 9 States

The Meteorological Department says rain may affect nine states in the next 16 hours. These states include:

Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Karnataka

Specific forecasts:

Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh: Light rain and snowfall expected on Feb 22–23.

Uttarakhand: Light rain expected Feb 22–24.

Chhattisgarh and Odisha: Rain expected on Feb 23–24.

Tamil Nadu and Kerala: Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds (35–45 km/h) on Feb 21–22.

Farmers in these areas are advised to take precautions.

Delhi: Clear skies on Feb 21, no rain. Morning temperatures may drop by 1–2°C. Strong winds in the past 24 hours have improved air quality. Max: 27°C, Min: 13°C.

Uttar Pradesh: Clear skies, no rain. Dense morning fog expected in Kushinagar, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Ballia, Mau, Mirzapur, Bhadohi. Max: 28°C, Min: 15°C.

Bihar: Daytime temperatures rising, evenings still cold. Cold wave continues in the mornings and evenings. Affected districts: Patna, Gaya, Jehanabad, East & West Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar, Araria, Darbhanga, Madhubani. Max: 29°C, Min: 16°C.

Uttarakhand: Light to moderate rain from Feb 22–24. Affected districts: Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Almora, Nainital. Max in Dehradun: 22°C, Min: 11°C.

Himachal Pradesh: Rain on Feb 22–23, snowfall in high-altitude areas like Manali. Affected districts: Shimla, Bilaspur, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, Mandi, Solan. Max in Manali: 2°C, Min: -9°C.

Jammu & Kashmir: Rain on Feb 22–23. Districts affected: Jammu, Anantnag, Pulwama, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch. Max in Srinagar: 13°C, Min: 2°C.

Madhya Pradesh: Clear skies on Feb 21, no rain. Temperatures rising during the day. Affected districts: Malwa, Bhopal, Balaghat, Betul, Bhind, Chhatarpur, Datia, Dhar, Damoh, Guna, Gwalior, Hoshangabad. Max in Bhopal: 29°C, Min: 17°C.

Rajasthan: Clear skies, rising temperatures. Affected districts: Jaipur, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Ajmer, Alwar, Gangapur City. Max in Jaipur: 27°C, Min: 15°C.

Tamil Nadu: Heavy rain alert from Feb 21. Winds at 40 km/h. Chennai and nearby areas will remain cloudy. Fishermen are advised to stay away from the sea coast and avoid some parts of the southwestern and southeastern Bay of Bengal, Lakshadweep area, on Feb 21–22.
