If you dream of starting your own small business but lack funds, the Modi government has a helping hand for you.

The PM Svanidhi Yojana is a government scheme launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to support street vendors and small entrepreneurs whose businesses were affected.

Under this scheme, you can get loans of up to ₹90,000 to start your own business.

Scheme Extended Until 2030

Even though the country has largely recovered from the pandemic, the government has extended the PM Svanidhi Yojana till 31 March 2030 to continue supporting small business owners.

Initially, loans of up to ₹80,000 were offered, but this was increased to ₹90,000 in 2025.

The scheme also provides a UPI-linked RuPay credit card for street vendors and offers cashback on digital payments for both retail and wholesale transactions.

No Guarantee Needed – Easy Loan Process

A key feature of this scheme is that loans are provided without any guarantee or collateral, making it easier for small vendors to access funds.

The loan is disbursed in three installments:

First installment: ₹15,000

Second installment: ₹25,000 (given after the first is repaid)

Third installment: ₹50,000 (given after the second is repaid)

This phased system encourages responsible repayment and gradually increases the loan amount based on your creditworthiness.

How to Apply for the ₹90,000 Loan

Getting a loan under PM Svanidhi is simple.

You only need to carry your Aadhaar card—no other paperwork or collateral is required.

The process is as follows:

Visit any government bank and collect the PM Svanidhi application form.

Fill in the required details and attach a copy of your Aadhaar card.

Submit the form for verification.

Once approved, the loan is disbursed in three installments as mentioned above.

You can also repay the loan in small EMIs, making it easier to manage finances while growing your business.

Millions Already Benefited

The scheme has already helped millions of street vendors and small business owners.

As of December 9, 2025, over 10.1 million loans worth ₹15,191 crore have been provided to more than 69.66 lakh beneficiaries.

Out of these, over 4.8 million beneficiaries are digitally active, using the scheme for transactions and business growth.

The government plans to benefit 11.5 million street vendors under the PM Svanidhi Yojana, making it one of the largest initiatives for small business support in the country.
