Lado Incentive Scheme helps Girls Study without Financial Worries

The Rajasthan government has taken a major step to promote girl education.

The Lado Incentive Scheme, which previously supported only girls in government schools, will now also include girls studying in recognized private schools.

This ensures that girls from all backgrounds get equal opportunities for education.

Under the scheme, the government will provide financial assistance of ₹1.50 lakh per girl, from birth until graduation.

The amount will be disbursed in seven installments, helping girls continue their education without financial hurdles.

Awareness Workshops to Help Families

Starting in November, the Women’s Empowerment, Medical & Health, and School Education departments will organize workshops.

These sessions will guide families on the application process and payment details.

This initiative not only empowers girls through education but also strengthens the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, ensuring equal opportunities in both urban and rural areas.

Rules and Eligibility

To benefit from the Lado Incentive Scheme, a girl must:

Be born in a government or authorized medical institution.

Be a native of Rajasthan.

Study regularly in a government or recognized private school.

Complete all necessary vaccinations on time.

The scheme is now linked with the Rajshree Scheme, which reduces paperwork and formalities for families.

How the Installments Are Paid

The financial assistance of ₹1.50 lakh is provided in seven installments as follows:

At birth: ₹2,500

At 1 year & completion of vaccinations: ₹2,500

Admission to 1st grade: ₹4,000

Admission to class 6: ₹5,000

Admission to class 10: ₹10,000

Admission to class 12: ₹25,000

Completion of graduation / age 21: ₹1,00,000

Including girls from private schools in the Lado Incentive Scheme is a commendable move by the Rajasthan government.
