Ahead of Diwali, women in Maharashtra have received big relief. From October 10, the state government has started releasing the September installment under the Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahin Yojana.
Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Aditi S. Tatkare announced that ₹1,500 will soon be transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women.
The Minister added that the transfer will be done in phases, and all eligible women will receive the money within 2–3 days.
She also requested women who have not completed their e-KYC to finish it quickly, as the amount will not be credited without it.
Recently, some irregularities were found in the scheme. Because of this, the government started re-verifying beneficiaries
and removed ineligible names. This re-checking caused a slight delay in releasing the September installment.
The government had already given women two months to complete their e-KYC. If they do not complete it within the given time, they will not get money in future installments.
