Aadhaar is an essential ID for every Indian citizen. It is required for activities like opening a bank account and accessing benefits from government schemes. Getting an Aadhaar card for the first time is free.
However, if you want to update your photo, fingerprint, iris, or address, a fee is charged. From October 1, 2025, UIDAI has revised these fees, making Aadhaar updates slightly more expensive.
