With this pass, commuters will pay just around ₹15 per day, making travel very affordable.

A Major Change in the Journey

Once completed, the nearly 90-kilometer journey between Lucknow and Kanpur will take just one hour, compared to the current three-hour trip caused by traffic jams and slow-moving vehicles.

The expressway is being built with six lanes, which can later be expanded to eight lanes if needed.

Designed to handle heavy traffic, this modern road is expected to serve travelers efficiently for the next 50 years.

Toll Charges and Facilities

According to NHAI, the one-way toll for general travelers will be ₹125. However, those with the annual pass will get a huge discount, reducing their daily cost to ₹15.

This benefit will apply only to non-commercial vehicles such as private cars, bikes, and daily commuters.

Toll rates for commercial vehicles will be decided separately, and they will not receive any exemptions.

Reduced Traffic and Smoother Travel

The new expressway will cut traffic on the existing national highway by 50–60%, easing congestion and improving travel time on the old route.

According to NHAI, the new expressway will accommodate over 40,000 vehicles daily, offering faster and more comfortable travel between the two cities.

To enhance safety and convenience, the expressway will also include CCTV cameras, EV charging stations, and ambulance services.

Construction work is progressing rapidly and the project is expected to be completed soon.
