Eastern India Braces for continuous Heavy Rain until October 6

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain over eastern India, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Sikkim over the next 24 hours.

Rainfall of 21 cm or more is expected during this period. West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar may experience continuous heavy rain until October 6.

Thunderstorms with heavy to very heavy rainfall are likely in eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal on October 4.

Strong winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph are expected over eastern India for the next five days.

Northern India (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh): Isolated rain, thunderstorms, and lightning expected between October 5 and 7.

Extremely heavy rainfall and hailstorms are predicted on October 6. Strong winds of 30–50 kmph will affect Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab,

and Haryana until October 7, and may continue in Uttarakhand until October 8.

Northeastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura): Intermittent heavy rainfall expected until October 9.

South India (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema): Light to moderate rainfall with strong winds expected over the next five days.
