Objective of the Scheme

The aim of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is to empower women through self-employment and livelihood opportunities.

One woman from each family in Bihar will be given financial support to start the work or business of her choice.

This is a universal scheme, open to women from both rural and urban areas, regardless of background.

Training and Support

In addition to financial aid, women will also be linked to self-help groups and provided skill training in their chosen field of work.

According to Lokesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Bihar Rural Development Department, district magistrates across all districts have been directed to organize programs at both the district and panchayat level.

Members of Jeevika self-help groups will also actively participate.

Scale of the Scheme

So far, more than 1.11 crore women from across 38 districts of Bihar have applied under this scheme.

Funds will be transferred directly into their bank accounts, creating excitement among women ahead of the elections.
