WhatsApp Brings New Profile Photo Feature

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature related to profile photos. According to a report by WABetaInfo, users will now be able to import their profile pictures directly from Facebook and Instagram.

This feature has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta version 2.25.21.23 for Android, available on the Google Play Store. A screenshot of this feature was also shared by WABetaInfo.

Import photos from Facebook or Instagram

Earlier, to use a Facebook or Instagram photo as a WhatsApp DP, users had to manually download or take a screenshot of the image.

This new option is especially helpful for those who no longer have the original photo saved on their device.

WhatsApp Account Must Be Linked to Meta

To use this feature, users must link their WhatsApp account to their Meta Accounts Center. However, this integration is completely optional.

Users can choose to enable or disable it anytime. Importantly, linking the accounts does not affect the app’s privacy settings, and your data remains protected.

Beta Testing Underway

At present, this feature is available only to beta users. Once the testing is complete, WhatsApp is expected to roll out a stable version of this feature for all users globally.
