GPF Interest Rate Fixed at 7.1% for July–September 2025

The government has announced the interest rate for the General Provident Fund (GPF) for the July to September 2025 quarter.

Along with GPF, interest rates for other similar provident funds have also been declared. From July 1 to September 30, 2025, the interest rate on GPF will be 7.1 percent.

This rate is the same as the one currently offered on the Public Provident Fund (PPF).

The same 7.1 percent interest will apply to GPF, Contributory Provident Fund, All India Service Provident Fund, and other related funds.

What is the Interest Rate on GPF?

According to the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the Finance Ministry, the interest rate on General Provident Fund

and similar funds will be 7.1 percent for the July to September 2025 quarter. The government has not made any changes to the interest rate from the previous quarter.

What Interest is Given on GPF and PPF?

The interest rate for GPF remains the same as that for PPF. Both are currently offering 7.1 percent interest. The same interest rate will also apply to the funds listed below.

What is General Provident Fund (GPF)?

GPF is a type of provident fund meant only for central government employees in India. Government employees can deposit a part of their salary into this fund.

On retirement, the employee receives the total amount saved along with the interest earned. The Finance Ministry reviews and announces the GPF interest rate every quarter.
