No Internet? Check Your EPF Balance with Missed Call or SMS

EPFO Update: Employees can now check their Provident Fund (PF) balance without needing to log into the EPFO portal.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) offers two easy ways to check your PF balance: through a missed call and SMS service.

These services are especially helpful for those who don’t have internet access or prefer not to use the online portal.

How to Check PF Balance via Missed Call

To check your PF balance using a missed call:

  1. Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.

  2. The call will be disconnected automatically.

  3. You will receive an SMS with your PF balance and last contribution.

This service is free of charge.

Get PF Details via SMS

To receive PF details through SMS:

  1. Send an SMS with the message EPFOHO UAN to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.

  2. You will get information about your balance, last contribution, and KYC status.

If you want the information in a different language, you can add the language code to the message. For example:

For Hindi: EPFOHO UAN HIN

For Punjabi: EPFOHO UAN PUN

For Gujarati: EPFOHO UAN GUJ

For Marathi: EPFOHO UAN MAR

For Kannada: EPFOHO UAN KAN

For Telugu: EPFOHO UAN TEL

Important Rules for Using These Services

Your Universal Account Number (UAN) must be active.

The mobile number should be linked to your UAN.

At least one KYC detail (Aadhaar, PAN, or bank account) must be updated.

How to Activate Your UAN

  1. Visit the EPFO member portal.

  2. Click on Activate UAN.

  3. Enter your UAN, name, date of birth, mobile number, and captcha.

  4. After receiving the OTP, submit it and set a password.

How to Update Your KYC

  1. Log in to the EPFO portal with your UAN and password.

  2. Go to the Manage tab and click on KYC.

  3. Add your Aadhaar, PAN, or bank account details.

  4. After this, your employer will need to approve your details.
