Air India Travel SIM has been launched for passengers travelling abroad, giving international travellers access to mobile data and voice services through an Air India-branded EasyRoam service developed in partnership with Tata Communications.

The travel SIM will initially be available free of cost, while customers will have to pay for the selected roaming pack.

Plans start at Rs 241, excluding taxes, with pricing depending on the destination and plan chosen.

Air India Travel SIM Starts at Rs 241

EasyRoam will be available as both a physical SIM and an eSIM through a dedicated Air India-branded webpage.

The service initially covers 30 countries across North America, Europe including the UK, Australia, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

Travellers can choose destination-specific or worldwide plans based on their requirements.

The service offers both data-only and voice-plus-data connectivity options.

Customers purchasing a data plan can also receive up to 1GB of additional complimentary data.

This benefit is available across the covered destinations except Maldives and Mauritius.

How the EasyRoam Travel SIM Works

The service is designed to allow passengers to arrange international connectivity before departure rather than having to purchase a SIM after reaching their destination.

Air India customers can activate the service and receive notifications and alerts to monitor their data usage and manage costs while travelling.

Users can also retain their existing number for up to one year at a nominal cost.

Tata Communications supports the service through its partnerships with more than 600 mobile network operators, helping provide connectivity across different international destinations.

Air India SIM Coverage to Expand

The EasyRoam service currently covers 30 countries, but its geographical reach is expected to expand progressively to up to 190 countries.

Air India Travel SIM is currently available for purchase through the airline’s website, with availability through the Air India mobile app planned subsequently.

The new service gives Air India passengers another option for staying connected overseas, particularly for travellers who want to arrange data and calling services before leaving India.
