X launches Job Search Feature to Challenge LinkedIn

Unemployment is a pressing issue worldwide, affecting countries like India and many others. Millions of people remain jobless, actively searching for work every day.

With the increasing influence of social media, platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed have become vital tools for job seekers.

To support this trend, Elon Musk has introduced a new job search feature on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to help individuals find jobs more easily. Here’s what you need to know about this new feature.

X’s Job Search Feature

Elon Musk continues to enhance his microblogging platform, X, by launching a job search feature.

Similar to LinkedIn, this feature allows users to explore job opportunities directly on the platform.

Initially, X had introduced a job hiring feature in beta last year, enabling companies to share job listings.

Now, this functionality has been expanded and is available to all users. It’s a significant update, turning X into a competitive platform for job searches.

Transformations on X

Since Elon Musk acquired X in 2022, numerous updates have been rolled out. These include video calling, long video sharing, editing options, long posts,

and live streaming, making X comparable to platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

With the new job search feature, Musk aims to position X as an alternative to LinkedIn, further broadening the platform’s functionality.

How the Job Feature Works

The job feature is designed primarily for verified companies on X. These companies can post job openings, making them visible to job seekers.Users can find relevant jobs through a keyword-based search.

The system is built on the X-Hiring database, where posted job listings appear in search results.

An added Application Tracking System (ATS) ensures smooth data sharing between companies and candidates, speeding up the hiring process.

Using the Job Search Feature

Job seekers can use this feature for free by visiting the Jobs section on the X app or website and searching for opportunities based on their preferences.

However, companies looking to post job listings need to pay a fee of approximately ₹82,000 (US$1,000) per month.

This update from Musk adds another dimension to X, helping both job seekers and recruiters connect efficiently.
