Reliance Jio has surprised its customers by secretly launching the annual plan of JioCinema Premium.
Just a month ago, Jio had introduced a monthly subscription plan offering 4K resolution video streaming without ads.
The new annual plan is not only affordably priced but also comes with a 50% introductory discount, making it even more attractive.

Price and Details of the New Premium Annual Plan
The new premium annual plan is listed on the JioCinema website for Rs 599.
However, under the introductory offer, customers can get a 50% discount, bringing the price down to Rs 299.
This plan is valid for 12 months, allowing customers to enjoy premium content for just Rs 299 in the first year.
After 12 months, the renewal price will revert to Rs 599.
Benefits of the Premium Annual Plan
According to Jio’s website, the JioCinema Premium Annual Plan provides the same benefits as the monthly plan, which includes ad-free streaming of premium content (HBO, Paramount, Peacock, and Warner Bros),
original 4K quality, access on one device at a time, and the ability to download content for offline viewing.
Although the streaming is ad-free,
events like the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament and other sports and live events will still have ads.
At Rs 299, the Premium Annual Plan offers better value for money compared to the Premium Monthly Plan, which is priced at Rs 59 per month.
The new plan is also cheaper than the old annual plan, which was Rs 999 before it was discontinued last month.
Comparison with Other Streaming Services
Last month, JioCinema introduced a premium family plan priced at Rs 149, which is available for Rs 89 for the first month as an introductory offer.
However, it is unclear if an annual version of the premium family plan will be introduced.
Even at Rs 59, JioCinema’s monthly subscription is cheaper than Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Prime Video.
Netflix’s mobile-only plan starts at Rs 149 per month, while Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video both charge Rs 299 per month, with their annual plans costing Rs 1,499.
