Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the updated 2026 S-Class facelift on June 15.

The luxury sedan will arrive with a major upgrade this time — a new plug-in hybrid version called the S450e.

Along with the new powertrain, the updated S-Class also gets a redesigned cabin packed with more technology, comfort features, and smarter software.

New Plug-In Hybrid Variant Joins the Lineup

The biggest highlight of the facelifted S-Class is the new S450e plug-in hybrid model.

It uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine combined with a powerful electric motor and a 22kWh battery pack.

Together, the setup produces 449bhp and 680Nm of torque.

Mercedes claims the sedan can travel up to 100 km in pure electric mode, making it more efficient for daily city driving.

The S450e comes with rear-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.

Petrol and Diesel Versions Will Continue

Mercedes-Benz will continue selling the existing petrol and diesel versions alongside the new hybrid model.

The S450 petrol mild-hybrid variant uses a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.

It produces 404bhp and 500Nm of torque.

Interestingly, despite being less powerful than the plug-in hybrid, the petrol version is quicker.

Thanks to its 4Matic all-wheel-drive setup, it can do 0-100 kmph in only 4.9 seconds.

The S350d diesel variant continues with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 330bhp and 650Nm of torque.

All versions of the S-Class will come with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Cabin Gets a Massive Tech Upgrade

The updated S-Class receives major changes inside the cabin.

Mercedes has introduced its latest “Superscreen” setup, which gives the interior a more futuristic look. The system includes:

A 14.4-inch central touchscreen

A 12.3-inch digital driver display

A 12.3-inch passenger display

The new infotainment system runs on Mercedes’ latest MB.OS software.

It brings faster performance, AI-based personalization, over-the-air updates, and improved user experience.

Luxury Features Take Center Stage

Mercedes-Benz has loaded the new S-Class with premium comfort and convenience features.

Some of the top highlights include:

Burmester premium sound system

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Wireless phone charging

Augmented reality head-up display

Facial recognition for user authentication

360-degree camera

Rear seat ventilation and massage

Executive rear seating package

Heated and ventilated seats

Four-zone climate control

With the new hybrid technology and upgraded luxury features, the 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class aims to offer a more modern and premium driving experience than ever before.
