Maruti Suzuki, the largest carmaker in the country, is getting ready to introduce its highly anticipated model, the Jimny SUV, in June Month.
The 5-door version of the new Jimny SUV, which made its global debut earlier this year at the 2023 Auto Expo, is set to hit the market in the first week of June.
The company has already received an overwhelming response from customers, with over 30,000 bookings for the SUV even before its price announcement. Deliveries will commence shortly after the launch.
Variants of Jimny SUV
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be available in two trim options: Zeta and Alpha. Both trims offer manual and automatic gearbox options. The first production-spec Jimny recently came off the assembly line.
Following its launch in the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be sold through the company’s Nexa retail chain, which also offers other SUVs such as the Grand Vitara and the recently launched Fronx.
Size and Dimensions of Jimny SUV
Compared to the 3-door version, the Jimny 5-door has a longer wheelbase. This modification enhances practicality, providing better utilization of the second row and slightly larger boot space.
Built on a ladder frame chassis, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV measures 3,985 mm in length, 1,645 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,590 mm and a ground clearance of 210 mm.
The SUV is equipped with 15-inch wheels available in both steel and alloy options, and it offers 208 liters of boot storage.
Performance and Off-Road Capability
Powering the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine, capable of producing 103 bhp of maximum power and 134 Nm of peak torque.
The SUV is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it comes with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4X4 system, featuring a manual transfer and low-range gearbox.
This advanced technology enables the SUV to tackle off-road challenges with ease.
Color Options and Expected Cost
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be available in seven color options, including five mono-color tones and two dual-tone themes. The dual-tone themes are Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish Black roof and Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof.
The single-tone color options for the SUV are Pearl Arctic White, Bluish Black, Nexa Blue, Granite Gray, and Sizzling Red.
The starting price of the Jimny is expected to be below Rs 10 lakh, with the top variant possibly reaching up to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is surely one of the most awaited new cars of this year. However, now it is going to be launched soon.
