Mumbai :
In July, private telecom companies in India surprised users across the country by raising the prices of prepaid and postpaid recharge plans.
In addition to Airtel and Vodafone Idea, Jio has also raised its plan prices by up to 25%.
To offer some relief from the higher costs, Jio has now introduced a new plan.
Jio’s cheapest plan
Users will benefit from this new Jio plan not only because it is priced lower but also because it offers increased validity.
The new Jio plan costs ₹1,899 and provides a validity of 336 days.
This means that with this ₹1,899 plan, users will get approximately 11 months of validity.
With this new plan, Jio offers users unlimited calling on any network and a total of 3,600 SMS over 336 days.
Additionally, users receive 24GB of internet data. If you don’t use much data, this plan could be a great option for you.
The average monthly cost of this plan is ₹172, making it a good deal for users.
However, it may not be ideal for those who need more data.
The plan also includes a free subscription to Jio TV and Jio Cinema.
What will Airtel, VI and BSNL do?
It remains to be seen if Airtel and VI will also introduce similarly affordable plans in response to Jio’s new offering.
Meanwhile, BSNL is working to attract users dissatisfied with private companies.
In the past month, BSNL has gained many new users and is improving its service while offering competitive plans.
It will be interesting to see if BSNL can make a significant impact in this period of rising recharge costs.
