Egypt Visa Fee will rise for single-entry travellers from January 1, 2027, with the base charge increasing from $30 to $33.
The increase follows an Egyptian Cabinet decision approved in August 2026.
For travellers using Egypt’s digital visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport, the total is expected to reach $39, including $6 in service, issuance and banking charges.
Egypt Visa Fee to Increase From 2027
The current single-entry visa fee is $30, while the new base fee will be $33 from January 1, 2027. The increase amounts to $3, or about 10%, on the existing base charge.
The revised fee follows a decision dated August 13, 2026, which approved the increase in entry and transit visa charges. The change is scheduled to take effect at the beginning of 2027.
Digital Visa on Arrival Will Cost $39
Egypt has also introduced a digital visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport. The pilot began on August 1, 2026, with the traditional visa sticker replaced by a QR-code-based process.
The digital visa-on-arrival currently costs $36, comprising the $30 visa fee and $6 in additional charges.
From January 1, 2027, the total is expected to become $39 after the visa component rises to $33.
Travellers can apply through the dedicated digital system before arrival or use self-service kiosks available in the arrival halls at Cairo Airport.
The system is expected to be expanded gradually to other airports and entry points.
Regular Egypt E-Visa Rate Yet to Be Updated
The digital visa-on-arrival system is separate from Egypt’s regular e-Visa, which travellers apply for before travelling through the Egyptian Ministry of Interior portal.
The official portal currently lists the regular single-entry tourist e-Visa at $30 and the multiple-entry tourist e-Visa at $65.
The portal had not yet published an updated January 2027 fee schedule for these regular e-Visas.

Travellers planning an Egypt trip in 2027 should check the applicable visa category and latest charges before making their travel arrangements.
The final amount can differ depending on whether the traveller uses the regular e-Visa or the digital visa-on-arrival system.
The $39 figure applies specifically to the digital visa-on-arrival route at Cairo International Airport and should not be treated as the confirmed price of every Egyptian visa category.
