India ranks 80th in the Global Passport Power Index 2024: Access to 62 Countries Without Visa

The Indian passport has secured the 80th position in the 2024 Global Passport Power Index, allowing citizens to travel to 62 countries without the need for a visa.

This ranking is shared with Uzbekistan, while neighboring Pakistan is positioned at 101.

Singapore and Japan have traditionally held the top spot for the most powerful passports, but this year, four European countries—France, Germany, Italy, and Spain—have joined them, offering visa-free access to 194 destinations.

Dr. Christian Kaelin, Chairman of immigration consultancy Henley & Partners, notes that while global travel freedom has increased over the years,

the gap between countries at the top and bottom of the list has widened.

He emphasizes that top-ranked countries can now access 166 more destinations visa-free than Afghanistan,

which sits at the bottom with access to only 28 countries without a visa.
