HDFC Bank and Federal Bank have recently revised their FD interest rates for selected tenures.
Federal Bank is now offering up to 7.20% annual interest for senior citizens, while HDFC Bank’s highest rate has increased to 7.10%. Here’s a simple look at the latest changes.
HDFC Bank Raises Senior Citizen FD Rate
HDFC Bank has increased the interest rate for senior citizens by 0.10% (10 basis points) on selected FDs below ₹3 crore. The revised rates came into effect on August 19, 2026.
The highest interest rate of 7.10% is available on FDs with a tenure of 3 years 1 day to less than 4 years 7 months.
For general customers, the bank has not changed its FD rates. They continue to range from 2.75% to 6.50%, depending on the tenure.

Federal Bank has also revised its FD interest rates, effective August 17, 2026.
General customers can earn 3% to 6.70%, while senior citizens can get 3.50% to 7.20%.
The highest rate of 7.20% is available on 48-month FDs for senior citizens. General customers receive 6.70% for the same tenure.
