Ducati has introduced a specialized version of its renowned DesertX motorcycle in India, named the DesertX Rally, catering to off-road enthusiasts.
Priced at Rs 23.7 lakh (ex-showroom), this model promises an exhilarating riding experience. At this price point, it competes with several top-tier SUVs available in the Indian market.
What sets the Rally version apart is its enhanced suspension system, sourced from Kayaba, elevating its off-road capabilities and justifying the slight price hike compared to the standard DesertX.
Advanced Suspension for Unmatched Performance
The DesertX Rally boasts premium suspension components, including 48mm closed cartridge forks with an impressive 250mm travel, offering superior stability and control on rough terrains.
In contrast, the regular DesertX features forks with a slightly shorter 230mm travel. The rear shock has also been upgraded for increased travel, providing full adjustability for both high and low-speed compression damping.
These enhancements contribute to a ground clearance of 280mm and a raised seat height of 910mm, enhancing the bike’s agility and maneuverability in challenging conditions.
Enhanced Features for Ultimate Off-Road Adventure
Equipped with spoke wheels and tube tyres, a high front fender, carbon fiber sump guard, and adjustable brake and gear pedals, the DesertX Rally is tailored for rugged landscapes.
Moreover, it sports a larger 21-litre fuel tank, offering extended riding range compared to the standard DesertX.
Despite these upgrades, the Rally version sees only a marginal increase in weight, tipping the scales at 211 kg (excluding fuel), just one kilogram more than its counterpart.
Uncompromised Performance with Familiar Powertrain
Underneath its rugged exterior, the DesertX Rally retains the same potent 937cc L-twin engine, delivering 109bhp power and 92Nm torque, ensuring exhilarating performance on any terrain.
Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, the Rally version maintains essential features such as traction control, ride modes, and ABS, mirroring the offerings of the regular DesertX.
