Citroën India is known for offering budget-friendly cars in the Indian market. Its lineup includes models like the C3X, eC3, Basalt X, Aircross X, and C5 Aircross X.
However, the company has now started increasing prices across its range. After revising prices for the Aircross X and Basalt X, Citroen has now made the C3X slightly more expensive.
The price of select variants of the C3X has gone up by ₹4,000.
Price Hike: Which Variants Are Affected?
The company has increased prices for the Live, Live CNG, and Live (O) variants of the C3X.
After the hike, the new ex-showroom prices are:
Live: ₹4.99 lakh
Live CNG: ₹4.99 lakh
Live (O): ₹5.53 lakh
Notably, Citroen has not increased the prices of all variants. The overall price range of the C3X still starts at ₹4.99 lakh and goes up to ₹8.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
This selective hike means buyers still have multiple options at different price points.
Features That Make C3X Stand Out
The C3X comes with several upgrades over the standard C3, offering around 15 additional features.
Some of the key highlights include:
Keyless entry and push start
Cruise control with speed limiter
6 airbags for safety
360-degree camera system
LED projector headlamps with DRLs and fog lamps
Inside the cabin, the car offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with automatic climate control designed for Indian weather conditions.
The car provides a 315-litre boot and rear USB Type-C charging, making it practical for daily use.
In the market, the C3X competes with models like Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch, Hyundai Xcent, Maruti WagonR, and Maruti Swift.
Engine Options and Real-World Mileage
The C3X is available with two engine choices:
1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (82hp, 5-speed manual)
1.2-litre turbo petrol (110hp, manual and automatic options)
The turbo-petrol engine delivers 110hp power and 205Nm torque, paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
As per Autocar India tests, the real-world mileage of the turbo automatic variant is:
City: 8.46 kmpl
Highway: 13.38 kmpl
Average: 10.92 kmpl
The company claims an ARAI mileage of 18.30 kmpl, but real-world figures are lower.
Performance vs Mileage: What You Should Know
The C3X feels quick and responsive thanks to its aggressive throttle tuning. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 10 seconds, making it a good choice for drivers who enjoy performance.
However, this performance comes at the cost of fuel efficiency.
During testing, the engine stop-start system was not very active, especially in high temperatures (35–40°C) where the AC had to work harder to maintain cabin cooling.
Also, driving speed plays a big role—higher speeds reduce mileage further.
