PM Kisan: 17th Installment of PM-KISAN Expected in May 2024 (Application Process)

Farmers across the nation are eagerly awaiting the 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

Reports suggest that the 17th tranche is likely to be disbursed in the last week of May 2024.

This scheme, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to provide financial support to eligible farmers.

Previous Disbursements

Prime Minister Modi recently disbursed the 16th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme during his visit to Yavatmal, Maharashtra, in February 2024.

This tranche, valued at over Rs 21,000 crore, benefited more than 9 crore farmers. Prior to this, the 15th installment was released on November 15, 2023.

Scheme Overview

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 annually.

These payments are distributed thrice a year – in April-July, August-November, and December-March – directly into the farmers’ bank accounts.

E-KYC Requirement

To receive the installment, farmers must complete the E-KYC process. This can be done either through OTP-based E-KYC on the PM-Kisan Portal or by visiting the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric-based E-KYC.

Checking Installment Status

To check the status of their installment, farmers can follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website – pmkisan.gov.in.
2. Click on the ‘Know Your Status’ tab.
3. Enter the registered number, fill the captcha code, and select ‘Get Data’.
4. The status will be displayed on the screen.

Verifying Beneficiary Status

Farmers can also verify their inclusion in the beneficiary list by:

1. Visiting the official website of PM Kisan – www.pmkisan.gov.in.
2. Clicking on the ‘Beneficiary List’ tab.
3. Selecting relevant information from the drop-down menu.
4. Clicking on ‘Get Report’ to view the status.

Application Process

To apply for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers can:

1. Visit pmkisan.gov.in.
2. Click on ‘New Farmer Registration’ and enter the Aadhaar number along with captcha code.
3. Fill in the required information and submit the PM-Kisan Application Form 2024.
4. Take a printout of the submitted form for future reference.
