NHAI Removes Paytm Payments Bank from Authorized Banks for FASTag Services

FASTag users associated with Paytm Payments Bank (PBBL) might face hurdles at toll plazas following the National Highway Authority of India’s (NHAI) decision to exclude it from the list of authorized banks for FASTag services.

With regulatory actions looming over PBBL, users are urged to take necessary steps to avoid disruptions.

Transitioning Away from Paytm FASTag

Deactivation Process:

  1. Login to Paytm FASTag Portal: Enter User ID, Wallet ID, and password.
  2. Enter Required Information: Provide FASTag number, registered mobile number, and verification details.
  3. Access Help and Support: Scroll down and click on “Need Help With Non-Order Related Queries?”
  4. Select Query Related to Updating FASTag Profile: Choose “I want to close my FASTag” and follow further steps.

Porting Process:

  1. Contact Customer Care: Call the customer care of the bank to which you wish to port your FASTag.
  2. Request Porting: Inform them about your intention to switch.
  3. Provide Required Information: Furnish necessary details, and the porting process will be initiated.

Approved Banks for FASTag Services:

NHAI has approved several banks for FASTag services, including Airtel Payments Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and more. Notably, PBBL has been removed from this list due to regulatory concerns.

Understanding FASTag Operations:

FASTag operates via Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, deducting toll payments directly from users’ accounts.

With over 750 toll plazas nationwide, NHAI FASTag is overseen by the Indian Highways Management Company.
