Rajasthan Government DA Hike has brought financial relief to more than seven lakh state government employees and over five lakh pensioners ahead of Diwali.

The Rajasthan government has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, taking the rates from 60% to 63%.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma approved the decision, which will benefit more than 12 lakh employees and pensioners across the state.

Along with the allowance increase, the government has also approved an ad-hoc Diwali bonus for around six lakh eligible employees.

The decisions are expected to put an additional financial burden of approximately Rs 1,226 crore on the state government.

Rajasthan Government DA Hike: What Changes?

Under the revised decision, the DA for Rajasthan government employees will increase by three percentage points, from the existing 60% to 63%.

Pensioners will receive the corresponding increase in Dearness Relief.

The revised rates will apply under the Seventh Pay Commission and will be effective from July 1, 2026.

This means employees and pensioners will be eligible for the increased benefits from that date, even though the revised payments will be processed later.

The decision is particularly significant for government employees who have been waiting for an increase in their inflation-linked allowance.

The additional amount will provide some financial support as household expenses continue to be affected by changing prices.

When Will Employees Receive the Increased DA?

Rajasthan government employees will receive the increased DA with their November 2026 salary, which is scheduled to be credited in December.

However, employees will not receive the entire pending amount as cash immediately.

The arrears for the four-month period between July 1 and October 31, 2026, will be deposited into their General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts.

This means eligible employees will receive the revised monthly allowance in their salary, while the accumulated arrears for the previous four months will be credited to their GPF accounts.

The arrangement will allow employees to receive the benefit from the effective date of July 1, even though the revised monthly payment begins with the November salary.

Pensioners Will Also Receive Higher Dearness Relief

The announcement also covers Rajasthan government pensioners.

Their Dearness Relief will increase from 60% to 63%, with the revised rate applicable from July 1, 2026.

Unlike the payment arrangement for serving employees, pensioners will receive the increased Dearness Relief in cash with effect from July 1.

The decision will benefit more than five lakh pensioners in the state.

Dearness Relief is intended to help pensioners manage the impact of inflation on their regular household and living expenses.

With this announcement, both serving employees and retired government personnel will receive the benefit of the revised rates.

Government Approves Diwali Bonus for Six Lakh Employees

Apart from the DA and DR increase, the Rajasthan government has approved an ad-hoc bonus for approximately six lakh eligible employees ahead of Diwali.

The bonus decision is expected to cost the state government around Rs 406 crore.

This additional benefit comes alongside the allowance increase, providing another financial benefit to eligible employees during the festive season.

The government estimates that the 3% increase in DA and DR will involve an additional expenditure of approximately Rs 820 crore.

When the cost of the bonus is included, the combined additional financial burden of both decisions will reach around Rs 1,226 crore.

The latest announcement therefore brings two separate benefits for eligible employees: a higher monthly DA rate and an additional festive bonus.

For pensioners, the main benefit is the increased Dearness Relief, which will be calculated at the revised rate from July 2026.
