Prayagraj Mumbai flights will now operate seven days a week from October 1, giving air travellers more options ahead of the festive season.

Akasa Airlines has resumed daily service on the route, while the increased availability has also helped keep fares comparatively lower.

For October 1, the Akasa fare from Prayagraj to Mumbai is ₹5,264, while the IndiGo fare is ₹5,565, according to the fare details provided.

Prayagraj Mumbai Flights Get Daily Service

Akasa Airlines had earlier reduced its Mumbai service from seven days a week to only Monday. From October, the airline is operating flights to Mumbai throughout the week.

The increased number of flights is helping keep Mumbai fares lower compared with some other major destinations during the Diwali and Chhath travel period.

For November 10, the fare from Prayagraj to Mumbai is around ₹8,405. In comparison, fares from Prayagraj to Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru on November 11 have reached around ₹15,000 and ₹16,210 respectively.

On October 1, the Prayagraj-Delhi fare is around ₹6,523, which is also higher than the Akasa fare to Mumbai.

IndiGo Plans More Flights to Three Cities

IndiGo is also planning to increase services from Prayagraj to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad from October 25.

Under the new schedule, flights to Mumbai will operate on Monday and Wednesday, Hyderabad on Tuesday and Bengaluru on Friday.

However, IndiGo will stop its Prayagraj-Bhubaneswar service on Thursday under the new arrangement.

Akasa’s Mumbai service will not remain at seven flights a week throughout the period. The service is expected to be reduced to six days a week in November.

Lucknow Flight Fares Rise Before Diwali

While more flights are being added on some Prayagraj routes, travellers heading to Lucknow are facing significantly higher fares before Diwali.

Flight tickets between Mumbai and Lucknow during the festive period have reached around ₹16,000 to ₹23,000. Fares from Pune to Lucknow have also reached around ₹20,000.

Air travel agents said the sharp rise in fares has happened earlier than usual. Typically, such increases become more noticeable around six to seven days before Diwali, but fares have risen much earlier this year.

With seats filling up ahead of the festival, travellers planning Diwali journeys may face further fare increases on popular routes.
