Namo Bharat Trip Pass has been introduced for regular passengers, allowing daily commuters to pay for multiple trips in advance instead of purchasing separate tickets for every journey or repeatedly recharging their National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).
The facility is aimed at passengers who frequently travel between the same stations. It can be particularly useful for working professionals, businesspeople and students who use Namo Bharat services regularly.
Namo Bharat Trip Pass for Regular Travel
The Trip Pass is loaded onto the passenger’s NCMC card. When the passenger travels on the selected route, one trip is automatically deducted from the pass.
For example, a passenger who regularly travels between Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram can purchase multiple trips in advance. The pass can also be used more than once on the same day, according to the information provided.
This means regular passengers can avoid buying a separate ticket for every journey on their fixed route. The facility also reduces the need to recharge the NCMC card repeatedly for the same trips.
Normal Fare Applies on Other Routes
The Trip Pass is valid only between the originating and destination stations selected while purchasing the pass. If a passenger travels between different stations, the normal fare will be deducted from the Global Wallet of the NCMC card.
The Global Wallet can be recharged up to a maximum balance of ₹2,000. Therefore, passengers travelling outside their selected Trip Pass route need to maintain sufficient balance in the wallet.
Passes Available for 1 to 40 Trips
Passengers can choose from Trip Pass options ranging from one to 40 trips. The facility is available for both standard and premium coaches.
The passes can be purchased from the counter located near the AFC gate at the station. Passengers travelling on Namo Bharat also receive a 10% discount on each trip under the stated facility.
The NCMC card also has a loyalty programme under which passengers earn one loyalty point for every ₹1 spent.
Why Regular Passengers May Benefit
Namo India has around 1.1 lakh daily commuters, with many passengers travelling between stations regularly. For such commuters, the Trip Pass can make repeated journeys more convenient by allowing multiple trips to be paid for in advance.
The Namo Bharat Trip Pass is therefore focused on simplifying travel for passengers who frequently use the same route. However, trips outside the selected route continue to be charged at the normal fare through the NCMC Global Wallet.
